Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is putting his 1955 Fiat 1100 pick-up truck up for auction in the UK. The auction will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, with no reserve price set. Jamie Oliver, known for his cooking shows and restaurants, has decided to part ways with his beloved Fiat ute, which he has owned since 2012.
The Fiat 1100 pick-up features unique ‘677 YUM’ British registration plates and has just under 43,000km on the odometer. Originally imported from Italy in 1973, the vehicle has remained in its original, unrestored condition. It boasts original steel wheels with yellow accents, classic chrome hubcaps, and a rustic wooden tray in the load area.
The interior of the Fiat ute is painted in the same olive-green color as the exterior, with rear-hinged ‘suicide’ doors for access. Inside, you’ll find brown vinyl seats, a three-spoke wooden steering wheel, and classic white-on-black circular gauges on the dashboard. The cabin is protected by rugged coverings to keep it clean from muddy boots.
Under the hood, the Fiat 1100 is powered by a 35bhp 1089cc four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. The vehicle has been rated in ‘good condition’ by Classic Car Auctions, with an overall grade of 80 out of 135.
When the auction takes place on September 28, the Fiat 1100 pick-up is expected to fetch between £6000 and £8000 ($AU11,700 to $AU15,600). This unique vehicle, with its celebrity chef history, is sure to attract attention from car enthusiasts and fans of Jamie Oliver alike.
