Audi enthusiasts will be disappointed to learn that the two-door versions of the Audi A5, S5, and RS5 will not be making a return for the 2025 model year. The coupe and Cabriolet models have been discontinued, but the four-door Sportback will continue to be available for the upcoming year.
The A5 coupe was initially introduced in 2008, featuring a sleek and elegant design. Over the years, various engine options were offered, including a 3.2-liter V-6 and a 4.2-liter V-8. The Cabriolet model was added in 2010, and the S5 coupe received a six-cylinder engine in 2013.
While American shoppers were not able to access the four-door Sportback model during the first generation, it became available with the second-generation A5 in 2018. This model featured a turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the A5 and a turbocharged V-6 in the S5. The RS5, known for its performance, had a powerful V-8 in its first generation and a twin-turbo V-6 in its second generation.
Although the coupe and Cabriolet versions of the A5, S5, and RS5 are being phased out, the four-door Sportback models will continue to be offered with some updates. Audi has enhanced certain packages, such as the addition of rear USB ports in the Convenience package and black exterior trim on all A5 models. Additionally, a new S line Plus package with darkened trim is now available on select models.
