Hyundai has introduced the 2025 Ioniq 5 N in Korea, bringing new features like Downshift Memory and Downhill Assist. These updates allow drivers to change gears even in Eco mode, enhancing the driving experience. Automatic high beams with glare-free function have also been added to the mix.
Although the exterior design remains unchanged, the focus has been on improving the software to make driving more engaging. The N Drift Optimizer now offers 10 levels of assistance, allowing drivers to choose the level of intervention when going sideways. By selecting Pro mode, the stability control system minimizes intervention, enabling drivers to drift more freely. This feature is best suited for track use, where suitable drift conditions are more likely to be found.
Another new addition is Downshift Memory, which stores commands without shifting and shifts when the vehicle reaches the allowable engine revs for downshifting. The artificial engine sound is activated automatically when launch control is engaged, simulating the noise of a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine. The 2025 Ioniq 5 N also features automatic high beams with glare-free functionality, a Walk-Away Lock system that locks the doors when the driver walks away, and a Vehicle to Load (V2L) function for powering external devices using the battery’s stored energy.
Safety features have also been enhanced with second-row safety windows and a haptic warning system for the steering wheel. The steering wheel vibrates to alert the driver when the assist systems detect a hazard. In Korea, the 2025 Ioniq 5 N is priced at $57,600 after incentives. Hyundai is also working on the Ioniq 6 N sedan as a counterpart to the electric crossover.
