The race started with high expectations for a home win as George Russell, Hamilton’s Mercedes teammate, secured pole position. However, Russell’s hopes were dashed when he encountered a water system issue on Lap 34. McLaren also faced challenges when a tire change mishap affected Norris’s performance.

Meanwhile, Sergio Perez faced a challenging race after qualifying in 19th place and starting from the pit lane due to multiple part changes. He crossed the finish line in 17th position. Charles Leclerc of Ferrari started in 11th place but finished 14th after a challenging race.
