MG has unveiled its latest family SUV, the 2025 MG HS, which is set to compete with popular models like the Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Tucson, and Mazda CX-5 in the Australian market. This new HS model offers more space, advanced technology, and even a plug-in hybrid option that boasts an impressive electric-only driving range of up to 120km.

Compared to its predecessor, the 2025 MG HS is slightly larger, measuring 4636mm long, 18900mm wide, and 2750mm in wheelbase. The design of the new HS features a unique front-end styling, a different interior, and other design changes that give it a distinct MG identity.

Inside the vehicle, you’ll find a pair of 12.3-inch displays for instruments and infotainment, along with features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite navigation, and Amazon Music integration. The new HS also offers wireless smartphone charging, power-adjustable seats, a premium stereo system, a 360-degree camera, and keyless entry and start.

In terms of safety technology, the 2025 MG HS comes equipped with a full suite of advanced features including autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and door exit warning.

Under the hood, the petrol version of the 2025 MG HS is powered by a new-generation 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 125kW of power and 275Nm of torque. The plug-in hybrid models combine a 105kW petrol engine with a 154kW electric motor, offering an impressive 0-100km/h acceleration time of 6.8 seconds.

The 2025 MG HS is expected to arrive in Australian showrooms by the end of this year, with prices likely to increase to accommodate the larger body and new technology. Despite the anticipated price rise, the modest increase seen in the UK market gives hope for competitive pricing in Australia.

Overall, the 2025 MG HS promises to be a strong contender in the family SUV segment, offering a blend of style, technology, and eco-friendly driving options. With its spacious interior, advanced features, and efficient powertrains, the new HS is sure to attract attention from Australian car buyers looking for a versatile and modern SUV option.
