Abt Sportsline, a company based in Allgäu, has recently introduced the RS3-S, a modified version of the Audi RS3. This new model features enhanced performance, updated design elements, and new interior additions. The RS3-S is available in both Sportback and saloon body styles, with prices for the full conversion starting at €16,600 (approximately c£14,000).
The Audi RS3 is already known for its impressive power, with the latest version delivering 394bhp to all four wheels. However, Abt Sportsline felt that this wasn’t enough and decided to offer a performance upgrade that boosts the output to 454bhp and 399lb ft of torque. These enhancements are achieved through a piggyback tuning device, without making any changes to the factory ECU. This not only makes the upgrades more affordable and easier to install but also allows for a simple reversal if needed.
For those looking for even more power, registering the kit on Abt’s mobile app unlocks an additional 25bhp, bringing the total output to 478bhp, surpassing the BMW M2. By activating the system online, a top speed of 186mph is achieved, which is 8mph higher than the standard car equipped with the RS Dynamic pack. Acceleration has also improved, with both the Sportback and saloon models now capable of reaching 0-62mph in just 3.6 seconds, making them quicker than some of their competitors like the Audi RS4 Competition and the BMW M3 Competition xDrive.
In addition to the performance upgrades, the RS3-S features a carbon fibre aerodynamics package, larger exhaust tips, Abt Sport GR20 wheels, and modified springs that lower the ride height by 30mm. The interior has also been enhanced with unique touches such as an RS3-S dashboard emblem, Abt puddle light, new floor mats, and an Abt start/stop button.
While the RS3-S offers significant performance gains and a more aggressive look, it does come at a price. The conversion costs start at €16,600 for the saloon and €17,900 for the Sportback, excluding fitting costs. However, each kit includes a five-year Abt warranty, providing some peace of mind for buyers who invest in this upgrade package.
