BMW has officially unveiled the 2025 M5, the latest addition to its iconic range-topping lineup. This powerful vehicle boasts 717 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque from an electrified M-Hybrid plug-in hybrid powertrain. The 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine provides 577 horsepower, while the integrated electric motor in the eight-speed automatic transmission contributes the rest of the power.

In terms of performance, the all-wheel-drive M5 can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 190 mph with the optional M Driver’s package. The vehicle’s 14.8-KWh battery offers an electric range of approximately 25 miles and can charge at up to 7.4 kilowatts, making it suitable for a level 2 home setup. Despite the electrified enhancements, the new M5 is heavier than its predecessor, weighing in at 5,390 pounds.

BMW has incorporated a “Boost Control” feature that allows the driver to unleash maximum power for quick acceleration bursts between 20 and 90 miles per hour. The M5 is designed for the track, featuring M-specific suspension hardware, adaptive dampers, and lightweight components. It also comes equipped with 285/40ZR20 front tires and 295/35ZR21 rear tires for optimal performance.

Inside the M5, drivers can expect a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen, similar to the i5 and the standard 5 Series. The interior features unique M-specific elements, such as the steering wheel, console, and control panel, allowing for customization and visual flair. The 2025 BMW M5 is priced at $120,675, including destination charges, and will be available for sale in the fall.

Despite its hefty weight, the new M5 offers impressive performance and innovative features that cater to both track enthusiasts and luxury car buyers. With its blend of power, technology, and design, the 2025 BMW M5 continues the legacy of the iconic M series while embracing electrification and modern automotive advancements.
