Audi has given a major update to its e-tron GT for 2024, introducing a new look, enhanced battery technology, and a significant power boost. The new model will be offered in three variants: S, RS, and RS Performance, with the RS Performance being the most powerful car ever produced by Audi.
The e-tron GT shares its platform with the Porsche Taycan, utilizing the J1 platform and benefiting from advancements in the chassis components and battery technology. The latest model features a more power-dense 97kWh (net) battery pack and lighter, more potent electric motors across all three versions.
The RS Performance model stands out with an impressive 912bhp output, accelerating from 0-62mph in just 2.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 155mph. The RS model follows closely with 844bhp and a 0-62mph time of 2.8 seconds, while the entry-level S model offers 669bhp with a 3.4 second acceleration time. RS models are equipped with a Boost function that adds an extra 93bhp for short bursts, enhancing the overall power output.
In terms of efficiency, the e-tron GT is estimated to achieve a range of up to 375 miles in its most efficient configuration. Charging has also been improved, with the ability to accept up to 320kW DC fast charging, capable of charging from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes.
Audi has introduced two new chassis systems to enhance handling and dynamics. All e-tron GT models come with a new air-suspension system featuring dual-chamber air springs and dual-valve dampers. Additionally, an optional Active Ride system is available, utilizing fully-active dampers and air springs to control roll and pitch, offering improved ride quality and handling.
The exterior of the e-tron GT has been updated with new bumper options, wheel designs, and exterior color choices. The RS models feature a more aggressive design with larger intakes and sportier elements, while the RS Performance model showcases chopped carbon elements for a distinctive look.
Inside, the e-tron GT boasts new color and trim options, along with updates to the touchscreen and driver’s display. The Performance model features chopped carbon accents throughout the interior for a premium feel.
European pricing for the e-tron GT starts at 126,000 euros (£106,210) for the S model, going up to 160,500 euros (£135,291) for the RS Performance variant. Local UK pricing will be announced closer to August when orders will be available.
Overall, the updated Audi e-tron GT offers a blend of performance, efficiency, and advanced technology, making it a compelling option in the luxury electric vehicle market. With its power upgrades, improved range, and enhanced driving dynamics, the e-tron GT is set to deliver a thrilling driving experience for enthusiasts looking for high-performance electric vehicles.
