Ford Pro, the commercial division of Ford Motor Company, is rolling out the Ford Pro Smart Charging Bundle in California, a state known for its large commercial fleet market. Electric vehicle fleet charging operations can be challenging, but this new bundle is designed to assist California businesses with electric vehicles in their fleet. By utilizing this bundle, businesses can improve their operations, reduce upfront costs, and lower ongoing EV charging expenses.

The Ford Pro Smart Charging Bundle offers California businesses a complimentary Level 2 48-amp charger or a Level 2 80-amp charger for depot and workplace charging. Businesses that are subscribed to Ford Pro Charging software are eligible for this offer. Making the switch to electric vehicles is not only beneficial for the environment, but it can also positively impact a company’s bottom line. For example, the all-electric E-Transit eliminates the need for gasoline and requires 48 percent less scheduled maintenance compared to a gas-powered 2024 Transit model. Additionally, businesses can leverage the smart charging software to schedule charging during off-peak hours when utility costs are typically lower.

One of the innovative features of Ford Pro’s Charging Software is the new automated demand-to-grid response solution. This feature responds to grid events in California, such as high local demand, by automatically pausing charging, notifying the customer, and resuming charging once the event has passed. By reducing the strain on the grid, this technology can help prevent brownouts and blackouts, ultimately leading to a more resilient power system. Ford Pro will assist customers in California with the enrollment process for grid demand response programs, energy programs, emergency load programs, and the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) carbon credits program.

Ted Cannis, CEO of Ford Pro, emphasized the importance of California’s role as an EV pioneer and the state’s efforts to accelerate businesses’ transition to electric vehicles. He stated, “We’re here to do the heavy lifting and help companies navigate the complexities of electrification, helping them be more productive and efficient as they add EVs to their fleet.” Ford Pro’s smart charging software enables businesses to effectively manage their charging operations, including scheduling charging sessions to avoid peak periods when electricity rates are high and participating in grid events automatically.

Ford Pro is committed to providing a seamless, connected customer experience through a comprehensive suite of solutions, including vehicles, charging infrastructure, software, financing, fleet management, and service for all commercial and government customers. By offering the Ford Pro Smart Charging Bundle in California, Ford Pro aims to support businesses in their transition to electric vehicles, ultimately driving efficiency, productivity, and sustainability in the commercial fleet market.
