Petr Novotný, CEO of Skoda Group, also emphasized the significance of hydrogen and energy-efficient solutions in shaping a more sustainable future for mobility.

Both companies believe that hydrogen will play a vital role in creating a sustainable society, starting with transforming the way we move. As part of the MOU, Hyundai may share its fuel cell system and technology with Skoda to enhance eco-friendly mobility in markets where Skoda Group operates, including the Czech Republic. Additionally, they will explore potential applications of fuel cell systems beyond traditional mobility, opening up new possibilities for utilizing hydrogen technology.

Hyundai Motor Group has a strong commitment to building a hydrogen society through its HTWO brand, which covers various businesses and affiliates involved in the hydrogen value chain. With its expertise in operating hydrogen applications across different sectors, Hyundai is well-positioned to drive the energy transition towards cleaner and more sustainable solutions.

In addition to their collaboration on hydrogen technology, Hyundai Motor Company and Skoda Group will also conduct feasibility studies to explore diverse applications for fuel cell systems. This initiative aims to leverage Hyundai’s global experience in implementing hydrogen solutions to address the evolving needs of the mobility and energy sectors.

Furthermore, Hyundai’s manufacturing plant in the Czech Republic, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) in Nošovice, plays a significant role in the partnership. With an annual capacity of 350,000 vehicles, the plant is recognized as one of the most advanced car manufacturers in Europe. Since its establishment in 2008, HMMC has been a key foreign investment in the Czech Republic, contributing to the local economy and fostering technological innovation.
