The EV sports car market is about to get more exciting with the arrival of the MG Cyberster. This two-seat electric roadster comes with scissor doors and up to 496bhp, making it a formidable contender in the electric sports car segment. The Cyberster has finally landed, with prices starting from £54,995.
MG has been teasing us with information about the Cyberster since its concept debut in 2021, and now the full specifications and pricing have been revealed. The base rear-drive model of the Cyberster starts at £54,995, which is comparable to the Porsche 718 Boxster. Orders are now open for delivery in August.
There are two versions of the Cyberster available. The Trophy model comes with a single rear motor producing 335bhp and 350lb ft of torque, allowing it to go from 0-62mph in just 5 seconds. On the other hand, the GT model features dual motors that generate 496bhp and 535lb ft of torque, enabling a 0-62mph time of 3.2 seconds.
Both models are equipped with a 77kWh battery pack, with the Trophy offering a WLTP range of 316 miles and the GT providing 276 miles. The Cyberster can be charged at a peak rate of 150kW, allowing for a 10-80% charge in just 38 minutes.
In terms of design and features, the Cyberster boasts a high-tech, modern cabin with three wraparound displays and a steering wheel with regen adjustment paddles. The car offers four drive modes – Comfort, Sport, Track, and Custom – to tailor the driving experience to your preferences. Additionally, the Cyberster features a wind deflector between the seats to reduce wind buffeting when the fabric roof is down, which can be opened or closed in just 15 seconds.
For those interested in purchasing the MG Cyberster, the Trophy model is priced at £54,995, while the GT model comes with a £5,000 premium. The first deliveries in the UK are expected to take place in August, so act fast if you want to get your hands on this impressive electric sports car.
