Peugeot has unveiled its newest SUV, the third-generation 5008, and this time, it comes with an all-electric option called the E-5008. Both versions of the SUV come with seven seats as standard.
Starting at £37,360, the base model of the new Peugeot 5008 features a 134bhp hybrid system that combines a 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engine with a 21bhp electric motor integrated into a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The vehicle can run on electric power for short distances and achieve up to 52.5mpg.
If you are looking for a plug-in hybrid version, the new 5008 starts at £43,350, offering a combined power output of 192bhp and 350Nm of torque with a pure-electric range of up to 48 miles. By comparison, the Skoda Kodiaq iV plug-in hybrid offers a longer EV range of 75 miles but is only available with five seats.
For those interested in an all-electric option, the E-5008 is priced from £48,550 and features a 73kWh battery that provides up to 310 miles of range. A long-range version with a 98kWh battery capable of 410 miles on a single charge is set to be released later this year.
Both the Peugeot 5008 and E-5008 come in two trim levels: Allure and GT. Standard features include a 21-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless charging, keyless entry, ambient lighting, reversing camera, rear parking sensors, LED headlights, and 19-inch alloy wheels. Upgrading to GT trim for an additional £3,800 adds pixel LED headlights, hands-free tailgate, heated front seats and steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, Alcantara upholstery, and 20-inch rims.
The E-5008 offers a unique driving experience with its 210bhp e-motor, allowing it to accelerate from 0-62mph in 9.7 seconds. Additionally, a long-range version with a 98kWh battery and a variant with all-wheel drive and 315bhp are expected to be released in the future.
Peugeot’s latest SUVs aim to provide customers with a range of options that cater to different preferences, whether it’s hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or all-electric. With competitive pricing and a focus on sustainability, the new 5008 models are set to make a mark in the SUV market.
