Pagani has unveiled the Utopia Roadster, the convertible version of the Utopia coupe, as a successor to the Huayra Roadster. The drop-top model is set to debut at the Monterey Car Week next month, boasting enhanced performance, a new design, and even the option of a manual transmission. With only 130 units to be produced, the starting price for this luxury vehicle is around £2.6m.
The heart of the Pagani Utopia Roadster is a powerful Mercedes-AMG-derived 6-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine, delivering an impressive 852bhp and 811lb ft of torque. This is a significant increase in power compared to its predecessor, the Huayra Roadster. The car comes with a seven-speed Xtrac automated manual gearbox as standard, but for those looking for a more engaging driving experience, a seven-speed manual transmission is also available. The Utopia Roadster can reach a top speed of 217mph.
Despite its powerful engine, the Utopia Roadster maintains a dry weight of 1280kg, thanks to the use of milled aluminum components, carbon fiber, and a cutting-edge composite monocoque made from Carbo-Titanium and Carbo-Triax. The design of the convertible seamlessly incorporates the opening roof into the car’s sleek silhouette. Customers will receive two roofs – a hardtop for long journeys and a soft top that can be conveniently stored in a suitcase behind the seats.
New to the Utopia Roadster are high-tech Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires with sensors that communicate with the onboard stability systems for enhanced performance and safety. The car is equipped with 21 and 22-inch forged aluminum wheels, along with Brembo brakes for optimal stopping power. Inside the cabin, drivers will find a luxurious mix of hand-stitched leather, carbon fiber, and precision milled components. The car even comes with custom carbon fiber suitcases designed to fit in dedicated compartments next to the engine.
The Pagani Utopia Roadster will make its official debut at the 2024 Monterey Car Week in August, where car enthusiasts will have the opportunity to witness this masterpiece in person. With its limited production and high price tag, the Utopia Roadster is set to be a rare and exclusive luxury vehicle for those who appreciate top-tier craftsmanship and performance.
