Get ready for some wild ride, folks! A Florida dude cruisin’ in his dump truck had no clue that the bed was all raised up. But hey, don’t stress, his good ol’ pal, the overpass, reminded him real good. So, picture this: our 54-year-old Crestview dude was headin’ north on Florida State Road 285, just mindin’ his own business. Little did he know, the dump bed of his truck was like, “Up, up, and away!” And that’s when things got real interesting. As he drove under the Interstate 10 overpass, BAM! That raised rear end of his truck went and smacked right into the underside of the overpass. Ouch.
According to WALA Fox 10, the hit was so strong that the entire bed got detached from the truck frame. Now, the speed limit in that area is 55 mph, but, let’s be real here, you don’t need to be speedin’ to lose your head if you’re too tall for the ride. So, there it was, like a big ol’ beacon of “oops,” the bed stood there all upright in the left lane, blockin’ the way for the other cars. The Florida Highway Patrol folks said the bed stayed stuck there for a bit, causin’ quite the traffic jam. Talk about a not-so-smooth ride, huh?
The whole shebang went down at 2:20 a.m. on a Friday. Thankfully, neither the driver nor his buddy in the passenger seat got hurt. They sure dodged a bullet there! There was a similar mishap last year in Florida that didn’t end so well, with the driver gettin’ pretty banged up. CDL Life mentioned how the dump truck went off the road and crashed into some trees, and even the car behind got hit by all the debris. But hey, at least this time around, everyone walked away without a scratch. Drive safe, y’all!
