Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Breaks World Record

Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh achieved multiple world records in a single run with the Jesko Absolut. Lundh drove the Jesko up to a maximum speed of 256 mph, setting records for 0–250 mph, 0–400 km/h, 0–250–0 mph, and 0–400–0 km/h in one go. The Jesko Absolut is the high-speed version of the Jesko, featuring vertical fins instead of a massive rear wing like the track car.

The record-breaking run took place on an airfield in Örebro, Sweden, just three days before Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone broke her own world record in the 400-meter hurdles at the United States Olympic trials. Lundh completed the 0–400–0 km/h run in just 27.83 seconds, beating the Koenigsegg Regera’s previous time of 28.81 seconds set in 2023. With the Jesko Absolut’s twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine producing 1600 horsepower and running on E85 fuel, Lundh accelerated to 400 km/h in 18.82 seconds, to 250 mph in 19.20 seconds, and achieved 0–250–0 mph in 28.27 seconds.

The record-breaking run was conducted in the early hours of the morning to take advantage of calm winds and low temperatures. The Jesko Absolut was in standard condition, equipped with a roll cage for safety and the seat from a Koenigsegg One:1. The car ran on E85 fuel and used standard Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires.

Following the success of the record-breaking run, Koenigsegg’s CEO Christian von Koenigsegg expressed excitement for more records to come. He stated, “This record run validated the accuracy of the simulated and calculated performance of the Jesko Absolut, which gives us great confidence in its ability to be the fastest fully homologated production car in the world. In parallel, we plan to see what kind of records the Jesko Attack can achieve, given its astonishing track performance.”

Markus Lundh’s achievement with the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut showcases the incredible speed and performance capabilities of this hypercar. With more records on the horizon, Koenigsegg continues to push the boundaries of automotive engineering and performance, solidifying its position as a leader in the world of high-speed supercars.
