Porsche has announced a recall of 31,689 Taycan models from the years 2022 to 2025 due to a potential issue with the front brake hoses. The company will begin notifying owners on July 3 about the recall.

The problem stems from the front brake hoses on the affected vehicles, which can develop cracks and leak fluid. This can occur due to stress at the point of minimum bending radius, potentially causing damage to the hoses’ inner fabric liner. The issue may arise during certain steering and driving conditions, according to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

To address the problem, Porsche will be replacing the front brake hoses in the affected Taycan vehicles free of charge. The new hoses have an increased bending radius and were implemented in production starting May 13, 2024. Vehicles built after this date already have the updated hoses installed.

Drivers may receive dashboard warning messages such as “brake fluid low” or “PSM failure” if there is an issue with the front brake hoses. If such notifications appear, it is important for owners to contact Porsche at 1-800-767-7243 or visit their recall page for further information. Additionally, the NHTSA can be reached at 1-888-327-4236, with the reference number for this recall being 24V455000.

The safety of customers is a top priority for Porsche, as stated by a company spokesperson. The recall is being conducted out of caution to prevent any potential leaks and ensure the well-being of Taycan owners. Notification letters will be sent out on July 3 to inform owners about the recall and the necessary steps to take.

In light of this recall, it is crucial for Taycan owners to stay informed and take the appropriate actions as advised by Porsche. By addressing this issue promptly, drivers can ensure the continued safety and performance of their vehicles.
