I have been driving the 2025 Ram 1500 for about 20 miles and 30 minutes, and I already have some strong opinions about it. This particular model is the Limited trim, with a price tag of $86,290. It is equipped with a twin-turbocharged Hurricane 3.0-liter inline-six engine that produces 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque. The engine is fast, smooth, and surprisingly quiet, offering a serene driving experience unlike the rumble of a V-8 engine.

One of the highlights of the Ram 1500 so far is its sublime engine. The power delivery is smooth, and there is plenty of power without the V-8 soundtrack. Additionally, the ride quality is excellent, with the ability to absorb big bumps without much fanfare. The driver-assist technology in the Ram is also well-implemented, providing just enough support to reduce driver stress without being overly intrusive.

However, there are some drawbacks to the Ram 1500 as well. The fuel economy is not as impressive as expected, especially on hilly terrain. The interior can feel busy and dated, with some controls being located on the touchscreen instead of physical buttons. Furthermore, the price of the Limited trim raises questions about whether the luxury features justify the high cost.

As I continue to spend time with the Ram 1500, my opinion may evolve. I have a long weekend ahead, during which I will be using the truck for various tasks such as attending holiday parties, landscaping projects, and hauling items in the bed. While I believe the Ram 1500 is up to the task, I may decide to take it on a camping trip to truly test its capabilities.
