Alpina has introduced the GT badge to its B3 and B4 models, following the success of the B5 GT last year. These models, available in saloon, Touring, and Gran Coupe forms, boast an uprated straight-six engine, enhanced dynamics, and unique design elements both inside and out. The starting price for the B3 GT saloon is €101,700 (approximately £86,500), with deliveries set to commence in November of this year.

With BMW set to assume full control of Alpina by December 2025, these new GT models may be the last of their kind. The peak power of the GTs has been increased by 34bhp to 522bhp, matching the output of the newly updated M3. However, the torque has been significantly boosted to 538lb ft, surpassing the M3’s 479lb ft. These impressive performance figures are achieved with the help of BMW’s 3-liter twin-turbocharged S58 straight-six engine, originally developed for BMW M cars.

Enhanced by a tweaked eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox, a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system, and an electronically-controlled limited-slip differential, the GT models exhibit improved acceleration compared to their non-GT counterparts. The B3 GT saloon, the fastest of the range, can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.4 seconds, outpacing the new M3 saloon by a tenth of a second. The top speed of the B3 GT saloon is 191mph, exceeding the 180mph of the new M3 Competition with the M Driver’s Package.

In addition to the power increase, Alpina has made structural enhancements to improve rigidity and steering response. The lineup features bespoke bulkhead reinforcement struts, larger rear stabilizers, and a new shock absorber setup for enhanced dynamics and comfort. The variable sports steering and active damping units have also been fine-tuned for improved driving engagement.

The exterior of the GT models showcases modified aero elements, including additional canards on the front spoiler and a bespoke gloss black diffuser for optimal aerodynamic balance. Each model comes equipped with Alpina’s signature 20-inch multispoke forged wheels in an exclusive Oro Tecnico shade. Various paint options are available, including Alpina’s classic blue and green hues, as well as BMW Individual colors like Fashion Grey, Brewster Green, Imola Red, Daytona Violet, and Carbon Black.

Inside, the GT models feature luxurious Lavalina leather upholstery with Oro Tecnico contrast stitching, Alpina-specific aluminum paddles, and GT lettering on the door sill trims and steering wheel. Each model also includes a production number plaque on the center console to emphasize exclusivity.

Despite the luxury and performance upgrades, the GT models are heavier than their non-GT counterparts, with the B3 GT saloon weighing in at 1875kg. While pricing for the UK market has not been confirmed, the starting price for the B3 GT Saloon is €101,700, with the B3 Touring and B4 GT Gran Coupe priced at €102,900 and €105,100 respectively. Orders are now being accepted, and deliveries are expected to begin in November 2024.
