Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging and Starbucks have joined forces to bring fast EV charging to over 100 Starbucks locations throughout the US. The first phase of the program will focus on installing 400 kW EV chargers at Starbucks stores along Interstate 5, a key travel route on the west coast.

Both companies are committed to sustainability. Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging is working towards Mercedes-Benz Group AG’s goal of going electric by creating a public charging network accessible to all vehicle brands. This network is powered by 100% clean energy as part of Mercedes-Benz’s plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2039. Starbucks is also dedicated to reducing carbon emissions and aims to cut them by 50% by 2030.

In the US, Starbucks already offers EV charging at over 1,000 locations, and this partnership with Mercedes-Benz will further expand their charging network. This expansion will bring renewable energy and clean technology to more communities, providing customers with a sustainable and convenient charging experience.

Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging has been rapidly expanding since its launch in November 2023. The network currently has 400 kW speed charging stations in several states and plans to expand to nearly half of the US states in the next 12-18 months. By collaborating with top brands, Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging aims to enhance the charging experience, focusing on quality, design, and overall consumer satisfaction.

Andrew Cornelia, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that they aim to make EV charging a delightful experience for all drivers. Michael Kobori, Starbucks Chief Sustainability Officer, highlighted Starbucks’ commitment to bringing renewable energy projects to communities and expressed enthusiasm for expanding their EV charging offerings.

This collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Starbucks signifies a significant step towards a more sustainable future for EV drivers. With a focus on customer experience and environmental impact, these two leading brands are working together to make EV charging more accessible and enjoyable for all.
