Dodge is speeding up the release date for the new gas-powered Charger Sixpack, according to a report by Mopar Insiders. Originally set for the end of next year, the release date has been moved up to mid-2025. Dodge has not confirmed this information, but Car and Driver reports that the Sixpack will be available by mid-2025.

The decision to accelerate the release date of the Charger Sixpack models may be due to customer demand for gas-powered muscle cars. With the upcoming launch of the Charger Daytona EV, Dodge seems eager to get the new Sixpack models into the hands of customers. The new models are expected to feature a Hurricane twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine with either 420 or 550 horsepower. Despite the earlier release date, pricing has not yet been announced.

The automotive industry is facing potential changes in regulations in the United States, which could be influencing Dodge’s decision to move up the release date. President-elect Donald Trump has indicated plans to review current government mandates related to electric vehicle incentives and emissions standards. This could impact automakers like Dodge and their strategies for electric and internal-combustion models.

While Dodge has said goodbye to its V-8 muscle cars with the discontinuation of the last-generation Charger and Challenger, new models are on the horizon. The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV is expected to launch by the end of this year or early next year, with the 2025 Charger Sixpack originally planned for a later release date. Now, the Sixpack models are expected to be available in early summer 2025.

Car and Driver reached out to Dodge for confirmation on the accelerated timeline for the Charger Sixpack, but the company declined to comment on future product plans. However, on Dodge’s consumer site, information about the next-gen Charger indicates that the EV models will be available in late 2024 and early 2025, with the Sixpack models following in mid-2025.
