Ford has introduced exciting upgrades to the 2025 Ford Maverick, especially for hybrid enthusiasts. The hybrid model now offers optional all-wheel drive and an enhanced tow package. Beyond these updates, the truck boasts refreshed styling and improved convenience features throughout the lineup.

Externally, the changes are subtle, primarily centered on the front fascia. The headlights have been slightly revised, and the grille has been adjusted to match. Each Maverick model now features a distinct grille design. Inside the vehicle, significant changes are evident. All Mavericks now come equipped with a larger 13.2-inch infotainment screen. This screen supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, allowing users to access the 360-degree camera mode and split front and rear views.

The major enhancements lie beneath the surface of the hybrid model. While the 2.5-liter hybrid four-cylinder engine maintains its output at 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque, it can now be paired with all-wheel drive – a feature that has been highly requested by consumers. The inclusion of all-wheel drive necessitates a change in the Maverick’s rear suspension to the multi-link independent setup used in the turbocharged all-wheel-drive model, departing from the front-drive hybrid’s torsion-beam rear end. The hybrid continues to feature the electronic CVT rather than the eight-speed automatic transmission.

With the addition of all-wheel drive, the hybrid model can be equipped with the 4K Towing Package, doubling its towing capacity from 2,000 to 4,000 pounds. This upgrade allows drivers to enjoy both fuel efficiency and enhanced capability without compromise. The turbocharged 2.0-liter engine option remains available, exclusively paired with all-wheel drive. This engine is the sole choice for the Tremor model and retains its output of 238 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.

In addition to these enhancements, Ford now offers valuable towing features as options, such as Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist. These features come standard on the Lariat and Tremor trims, which also include adaptive cruise control with lane centering and stop-and-go functions, as well as traffic sign recognition.

While the updates bring exciting new features to the 2025 Ford Maverick, they also come with a price increase. The front-drive XL trim will now start at $27,890, including the $1,595 destination charge. Customers can start placing orders on August 1, with deliveries expected later in the year. The upgrades to the Maverick promise to enhance the driving experience for consumers looking for a versatile and capable vehicle.
