Ford has recently unveiled the 2025 Mustang GTD, a street-legal version of the Mustang GT3 race car. The exterior of the GTD resembles a race car with its sleek design and aerodynamic features. However, what sets it apart is the surprisingly livable interior.

Inside the GTD, you will find a familiar dashboard with large displays and a flat-bottom steering wheel that has unique GTD touches. The digital gauge cluster showcases the car’s 7600-rpm redline, thanks to its supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 engine. One of the standout features of the GTD is a window box located where the rear seats would typically be. This secondary rear window allows front-seat passengers to observe the exotic rear suspension in action.

The GTD also boasts 3-D-printed paddle shifters and GTD-exclusive buttons on the steering wheel for adjusting the suspension and exhaust modes. The rotary shift knob, borrowed from the Shelby GT500, controls the eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle. Additionally, the GTD features its own welcome and farewell graphics on the 13.2-inch touchscreen display.

Standard on the Mustang GTD are Recaro front seats that offer a comfortable seating option compared to the thinly padded buckets found in other track cars. Ford has also introduced the GTD’s Performance package, which includes magnesium wheels and active aero bits to enhance the car’s performance on the road.

Overall, the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD combines the best of both worlds – a high-performance exterior with a comfortable and technologically advanced interior. With its unique features and impressive design, the GTD is sure to turn heads on the road.
