Alfa Romeo has unveiled its first-ever electric car, the Alfa Romeo Junior, now available for order. The base model, named Elettrica, comes with standard features like 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED headlights, and an array of interior amenities such as twin 10.25-inch screens, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and ambient lighting.
The Alfa Romeo Junior lineup includes two specifications. The Junior Speciale, considered the ‘launch edition’ car, boasts a more powerful 237bhp e-motor, sports styling kit, and additional interior enhancements. Priced at £35,695, it offers a sportier driving experience compared to the base model.
Later this year, Alfa Romeo will introduce the range-topping Junior Veloce model, priced at £42,295. With a powerful 278bhp motor, this version can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 5.9 seconds, rivaling the performance of the Volkswagen Golf GTI. The Veloce model also features a Torsen differential, lowered suspension, 20-inch wheels, and a host of visual upgrades both inside and out.
Three optional packs, Technology, Premium, and Sport, will be available for the Alfa Romeo Junior. These packs offer additional features such as hands-free tailgate, massage seats, and sporty trim elements to enhance the overall driving experience.
All versions of the Alfa Romeo Junior are equipped with a 54kWh battery, providing a range of up to 255 miles for the base model. Fast charging capabilities allow for a quick recharge, with a 10-80% top-up taking less than 30 minutes when needed.
Initially launched as the Milano, the Alfa Romeo Junior faced a name change due to unforeseen circumstances. Despite this, the compact electric SUV promises an exciting driving experience and a stylish design that sets it apart in the EV market.
