The 2024 Le Mans 24 Hours was an exciting event with a record-breaking number of Hypercars, unpredictable weather conditions, and the introduction of the new LMGT3 class. Ferrari managed to secure victory for the second consecutive year in the 499P, outperforming Toyota to claim the top spot. United Autosport emerged victorious in the LMP2 class, while Manthey-Porsche took the win in the LMGT3 category.

This year, the newly introduced LMGT3 class added to the diversity of cars participating in the race. A total of 23 cars from 9 different manufacturers, including Ferrari with the 296 GT3, Ford with the Mustang GT3, and McLaren with the 720S GT3, showcased their performance on the track. The Lamborghini SC63 made its debut at Le Mans, with the highly anticipated Aston Martin Valkyrie set to join the competition in the upcoming year.

In addition to the Hypercar and LMGT3 classes, a total of 62 cars driven by 186 drivers braved the grueling Circuit de la Sarthe for a full 24 hours. The race presented various challenges with changing weather conditions, including rain and lower temperatures compared to the previous year. Despite the adverse conditions, the event was a spectacle for all those involved.

Surprisingly, Toyota was not the favored contender this year, as the Penske Motorsport Porsche #6 driven by Kévin Estre, André Lotterer, and Laurens Vanthoor secured the top position in the Hyperpole. Ferrari’s 499P #50 car ultimately clinched the overall victory, while United Autosports and Manthey EMA Porsche 911 triumphed in the LMP2 and LMGT3 classes, respectively.

The 2024 Le Mans race attracted a star-studded lineup of drivers, including former Formula 1 stars like Romain Grosjean, Mick Schumacher, and Robert Kubica, as well as current favorites such as Estre, Nick Tandy, and Valentino Rossi. The presence of these renowned drivers added to the excitement and competitiveness of the event.

Looking ahead, the confirmation of the Aston Martin Valkyrie’s participation in the 2025 Le Mans race promises even more thrilling competition and anticipation for motorsport enthusiasts.
