The Genesis GV60 Magma, which was initially introduced as a concept car, is now confirmed to be produced and available in Europe by the end of 2025. This electric SUV is the Korean brand’s first bespoke electric vehicle and shares the E-GMP platform with other high-performance cars like the Kia EV6 GT and Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, which was recently named Performance Car of the Year. While exact technical specifications are still unknown, the GV60 Magma is expected to deliver impressive performance.

Development boss Tyrone Johnson shared that the GV60 Magma will differentiate itself from its sibling models by having a unique character and purpose. The Magma Concept version showcased at the 2024 New York International Auto Show and Goodwood Festival of Speed features a wider track, lowered suspension, aggressive styling elements, and a sporty interior with bucket seats and vibrant orange accents.

Genesis has also announced plans to introduce high-performance Magma variants for all models in its lineup, aiming to combine Korean premium luxury with European driving dynamics. The G80 EV Magma Concept was unveiled as a preview of a large, all-electric super-saloon from the brand. These Magma models will offer exceptional performance while maintaining the luxury standards associated with Genesis.

Ashley Andrew, president and CEO of Genesis UK, emphasized that the introduction of Magma cars will appeal to customers seeking both luxury and high-performance driving experiences. The Magma program will add a new dimension to the brand and attract consumers looking for top-tier luxury coupled with exceptional performance.

The GV60 Magma and other Magma models represent Genesis’ commitment to expanding its offerings and appealing to a broader audience. By combining luxury, performance, and cutting-edge technology, Genesis aims to establish a strong presence in the electric vehicle market. The Magma lineup is set to redefine the brand’s identity and cater to enthusiasts looking for a unique and exhilarating driving experience.
