Kia has introduced a new version of its Carnival MPV with several updates in terms of design and technology, including a new hybrid model. The prices for the hybrid range from $41,895 to $53,995, which includes the destination charge of $1,395. The non-hybrid 2025 model starts at $37,895 for the Carnival LX and goes up to $51,995 for the SX Prestige, with other trims like LXS, EX, and SX falling in between.
The new Carnival Hybrid is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo-hybrid engine paired with a 54kW motor and a six-speed automatic transmission. This combination generates a total output of 242 horsepower and 271 lb.-ft. of torque. While the fuel economy numbers have not been revealed yet, the hybrid model comes with exclusive features such as 17-inch aerodynamic wheels, Active Air Flaps, and paddle regenerative braking.
For those who prefer the traditional V6 engine, the current Carnival model offers a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 287 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with front-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Inside the Carnival, Kia has included the Star Map interior lighting and “Slide-Flex” seating for the eight-passenger version. The second row can slide, and the second-row seats can be removed, while the third-row seats can be folded into the floor. The minivan also features a voice recognition system for various commands and driver convenience features like an 11-inch Head Up Display and Full Display Mirror.
The exterior of the Carnival has been updated with a newly-designed grille and headlamps, giving it a fresh look. The interior features a 4.2-inch TFT screen and a 12.3-inch screen, with higher trims offering a full digital instrumentation upgrade with larger displays.
More details about the Carnival, including the hybrid efficiency numbers, will be released closer to the on-sale date later this summer. Stay tuned for further updates on this versatile and technologically advanced minivan from Kia.
