So, like, Brad Pitt is like totally the main dude in this upcoming Formula 1 movie, right? But let’s not forget about the real stars of the show – the cars! Mercedes-Benz totally had a major role both on and off the screen. They even came out with a real-life car inspired by the movie’s fictional race team.

The 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 “APXGP Edition” – yeah, it’s a mouthful – is named after the 11th team in the movie, Apex Grand Prix (APXGP). In the film, it’s not some fancy Cadillac, but Apex Grand Prix that’s holding it down. Brad Pitt plays this dude Sonny Hayes, who’s like this old guy causing drama for the hotshot rookie Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris.

We gotta wait for the movie to drop to see if these two ever get along or actually win any races. But this special edition Benz gives us a sneak peek, showing us the insane attention to detail that went into everything related to the flick. Mercedes-Benz was all over the screen, with official FIA F1 Safety and Medical cars, along with road vehicles like the AMG SL, G-Class, and GT.

The APXGP Edition by Mercedes-AMG is supposed to be super close to the movie. It’s got a unique paint job with designs specific to APXGP, all hand-applied. They even threw in an AMG Extended Night Package to make the exterior look even sleeker with black chrome details. And for a little pop of color, the 21-inch wheels are in matte Race Gold, matching accents around the car like the grille, side sills, and rear apron.

Inside, it’s all about that Race Gold, carbon fiber, and black vibe. The seats rock black Nappa leather with gold stitching, and basically everything is stitched with gold thread. The carbon fiber trim also has gold accents, and even the floor mats have the APXGP logo in Race Gold. Fancy, right?

Under the hood, this bad boy has a 577-horsepower AMG 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine. Plus, it comes with AMG Track Pace for tracking data on the race track, and a lift system to clear speed bumps and stuff. Oh, and let’s not forget the carbon fiber rear wing and the AMG High Performance Carbon Ceramic Brake System with black brake calipers – gotta have those for safety, ya know?

They didn’t spill the beans on the price, but the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 APXGP Edition is limited to just 52 units. Yeah, it’s a weird number, but apparently, it’s connected to the movie somehow. The film is set to hit screens globally on June 25, but us folks in North America will have to wait until June 27. Who knows if the movie will be a smash or a dud, but at least there’ll be 52 of these fierce GT 63s out there to keep us entertained.
