New South Wales has gained a new racetrack, One Raceway, after undergoing major renovations and improvements. The racetrack, previously known as Wakefield Park, is set to reopen on the first weekend of October 2024. Brothers Greg and Steve Shelley, the new owners, have been busy with final preparations and test days leading up to the grand opening.

Located near Goulburn, One Raceway now features a 13-turn track with new banked corners, providing an exciting and safe racing experience for all drivers, regardless of the vehicle they are driving. The facility is now bi-directional, allowing for multiple track set-ups and challenges during events.

The racetrack has undergone significant upgrades, including the installation of 35 kilometers of pipes, a new pit lane, higher garage doors, a flattened paddock, new timing equipment, and international-grade light panels. An outside broadcast facility has also been added to attract television coverage of motorsport events.

In addition, walls up to 10 meters high have been built around the track to reduce noise pollution and ensure minimal impact on neighboring areas. This addresses one of the main concerns that led to the closure of the original Wakefield Park.

The first event scheduled at One Raceway is the sixth round of the Australian Superbike Championship on 4-6 October 2024. A grand opening ceremony will be announced closer to the date, welcoming racers and spectators to experience the revamped racetrack.

As One Raceway prepares for its grand opening, the focus remains on safety, functionality, and providing an enjoyable racing experience for all participants. The investment in the facility aims to position it as one of the top racetracks in Australia, catering to both national events and grassroots motorsports. The new bi-directional track layout offers versatility and challenges for racers, setting the stage for an exciting future at One Raceway.
