Porsche has recently opened its fourth Porsche Charging Lounge in Ingolstadt, Germany, as part of its ongoing effort to expand its fast-charging network for electric vehicle owners. This new location joins the existing lounges in Bingen am Rhein, Estenfeld near Würzburg, and Koblach in Austria.
The Porsche Charging Lounge in Ingolstadt features four DC fast-charging stations with a charging capacity of up to 400 kW, as well as four AC charging points with 22 kW. This allows drivers of Porsche electric and plug-in hybrid models to conveniently charge their vehicles using certified green electricity. The lounge is strategically located on the important north-south connection A9, making it easily accessible for drivers in the area.
One of the key benefits of the Porsche Charging Lounges is the high charging performance they offer. The fast-charging stations at the Ingolstadt location have been upgraded from 300 to 400 kW, allowing for faster charging times. For example, the new Taycan models can be charged with up to 320 kW, with charging capacities of over 300 kW possible for up to five minutes. The all-electric Macan can also be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just around 21 minutes.
To enhance the charging experience, the Ingolstadt lounge features modern amenities such as sanitary facilities, a selection of soft drinks and snacks, and high-performance WiFi. Drivers can also relax in the lounge area while waiting for their vehicles to charge, with access to both analogue and digital media.
In addition to the physical lounges, Porsche also offers the Porsche Charging Service, which provides access to nearly 700,000 charging points in 24 countries across Europe. This service allows Porsche drivers to easily locate and utilize charging points from various providers. Furthermore, Porsche dealerships around the world have installed over 1,500 high-performance charging points for customer use, with charging capacities of up to 320 kW.
