Skoda has released its first-ever plug-in hybrid version of the Kodiaq, which comes with an impressive pure-electric driving range of up to 75 miles. Priced at £41,935, this new model is equipped with five seats, unlike the regular seven-seat versions.

The hybrid powertrain of the Kodiaq iV includes a 148bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 114bhp electric motor, delivering a total power output of 201bhp and 350Nm of torque. Fleet drivers will benefit from its low CO2 emissions, placing it in the 5 per cent Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) company car tax bracket.

Featuring a 25.7kWh battery, the Kodiaq iV can be charged up to 80% in just 26 minutes using a public rapid charger, or in under four hours with a home wallbox. The regenerative braking system helps to recharge the battery when the vehicle slows down.

Three driving modes are available for the plug-in hybrid powertrain. E-Mode prioritizes electric driving, Hybrid mode optimizes fuel economy, and Sport mode provides maximum power output. The Skoda Kodiaq iV is offered in SE and SE L trims, with the SE L model starting from £44,635 and including additional features such as adaptive matrix LED headlights and black leather upholstery.

For those in need of more seating, there are other 7-seater cars available in the market. Stay updated with the latest news and developments in the automotive industry by following our news reporter, Ellis, who covers a wide range of motoring topics, from compact vehicles to luxury SUVs.
