Ferrari has introduced the new 12Cilindri, a powerful 819bhp two-seat GT car that aims to keep the tradition of big, naturally-aspirated V12 engines alive. Priced at €395,000 (c£338,000), this new model is designed to be faster, more exciting, and more dramatic than its predecessor, the 812 Superfast.

The 12Cilindri shares some of its design elements with the aggressive 812 Competizione and takes inspiration from the iconic 365 GTB/4 Daytona. The car features a shorter wheelbase and a redesigned aluminium chassis to enhance its performance and handling. Ferrari engineers have worked to combine the sharpness of the 812 Competizione with the GT qualities of the Superfast.

Powered by a 6.5-litre V12 engine, the 12Cilindri produces an impressive 819bhp and can rev up to 9500rpm. The engine features lighter internals and revised intake tracts to achieve its high performance. Paired with an eight-speed gearbox from the SF90 and 296 GTB, the 12Cilindri can shift 30% faster than its predecessor, offering improved acceleration and responsiveness.

The chassis of the 12Cilindri is 15% stiffer than the Superfast, with significant advancements in suspension and rear-steer system technology to enhance stability and cornering potential. The car comes with two tyre options specially developed for its 21-inch wheels, providing improved stability and reduced rolling resistance.

In terms of electronics, the 12Cilindri is equipped with Ferrari’s latest Side Slip Control 8.0 system and ABS Evo system to optimize performance and handling. The car’s aerodynamics focus on generating downforce through the floor and rear diffuser, with rear wing flaps that deploy at high speeds to increase stability.

Inside, the 12Cilindri features a modern cabin with touch displays, haptic steering wheel buttons, and dual screens for the driver and passenger. Customers can expect to spend below €500,000 (c£430,000) on their customized 12Cilindri. Deliveries of the left-hand drive models are set to begin in Q4 this year, with right-hand drive versions coming later.

Overall, the Ferrari 12Cilindri represents a new era of high-performance GT cars that combine the brand’s iconic V12 engine with advanced technology and design elements to deliver an exhilarating driving experience.
