The Toyota GR Corolla is known for its exhilarating driving experience, with its powerful 300-hp turbo three engine and precise six-speed manual transmission. However, reports suggest that the 2025 model may introduce an automatic transmission option for the first time. This update is based on a leaked Canadian order sheet from the GR Corolla Forum.

In addition to the potential automatic transmission, the 2025 Toyota GR Corolla is rumored to receive a boost in standard torque, increasing from 273 to 295 pound-feet. This would bring it in line with the track-focused Morizo Edition. The order guide also mentions a redesigned front bumper for all models, although specific details are scarce.

The entry-level Core trim, which will still be manual-only, is said to include a heated steering wheel and brake cooling ducts. The Premium trim, where the automatic transmission will be available, may come with 18-inch matte black wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, a head-up display, and a sub-radiator for improved engine cooling. It is unclear if the top-of-the-line Circuit Edition will receive the same upgrades.

Car and Driver reached out to Toyota for comment on these reported changes for the 2025 Toyota GR Corolla, but has not received a response yet. It is exciting to see the potential updates and enhancements coming to this already thrilling hot hatch. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
