Alpine is making a grand return to the Goodwood Festival of Speed with an exciting lineup that perfectly captures its success in both road and track racing. One of the highlights of the event will be the UK dynamic debut of the Alpine A290, the brand’s very first electric sports car. The A290, boasting 220 bhp, will be taking on the 1.16-mile hill as part of the ‘First Glance’ display, giving attendees a thrilling demonstration of its sporting prowess.
In addition to showcasing their electric future with the A290, Alpine will also be celebrating their past, present, and future competition icons at the Manufacturer Grid. Visitors can look forward to seeing displays of the aero-optimized A110 Pikes Peak car, the innovative Alpenglow concept featuring a lightweight carbon body and a hydrogen-powered engine, and the classic 1975 A110 Group 4 Tour de Corse rally car.
The motorsport theme continues with displays of the BWT Alpine F1 Team showcar, the iconic 1970s twin-turbocharged V6 RS10 F1 car, and the powerful V6-powered A442B endurance racer. Attendees can also test their racing skills on the Alpine simulator, with the fastest visitor winning an Alpine experience at Thruxton. Alpine merchandise will also be available for purchase at the event.
Another exciting Alpine model to look out for at the festival is the A110 R Le Mans, limited to just 100 examples. The rest of the A110 range, including the A110 S, A110 GT, A110 R, and A110 Enstone, will also participate in the manufacturer parade. Alpine will also be unveiling their plans to make the A110 even more exclusive with the upcoming Atelier Alpine program. This program will allow A110 customers to choose from 22 new body colors inspired by Alpine’s history, along with exclusive finishes for alloy wheels and brake calipers.
Nic Burnside, the Managing Director of Alpine Cars UK, expressed his excitement for this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, stating that Alpine is set to be more accessible and versatile than ever. The pure electric Alpine A290 is expected to attract a wider audience and showcase a new and exhilarating direction for Alpine production models. With a mix of past, present, and future innovations on display, this year’s festival promises to be truly memorable for Alpine enthusiasts and motorsport fans alike.
