BMW has given its M4 model the CS treatment, which includes carbon parts, unique chassis tuning, and more power for its twin-turbo straight-six engine. This new version of the M4 is set to compete with the Porsche 911, a well-known track-focused sports car. Priced at £117,100, the M4 CS has already been unveiled to the public at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and will be available for purchase at the end of May, with deliveries starting in the autumn.

Under the hood, the M4 CS is powered by BMW’s S58 twin-turbocharged straight-six engine, producing 542bhp and 479lb ft of torque. The increased power comes from higher maximum boost pressure for the turbos and changes to the engine management software. Unlike the limited-run M4 CSL, the CS model comes with four-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic gearbox, enabling it to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 188mph.

In addition to the increased power, the M4 CS features significant changes to its suspension, steering, and geometry to enhance its performance on the track. The adaptive dampers, roll bars, and auxiliary springs have been tuned specifically for the CS model, along with the variable ratio M Servotronic steering system. The car is also lighter than the M4 Competition, thanks to carbon fiber body panels and interior trims, resulting in improved agility and handling.

The M4 CS comes equipped with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear forged alloy wheels, paired with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Customers can opt for Cup 2 Rs tires and carbon ceramic brakes for further performance enhancements. The car recently recorded a lap time of 7 minutes and 21.9 seconds at the Nürburgring, showcasing its track capabilities.

Overall, the BMW M4 CS offers a compelling package for enthusiasts looking for a high-performance sports car that delivers speed, precision, and agility on both the road and the track. With its combination of power, lightweight construction, and track-focused upgrades, the M4 CS is poised to be a strong competitor in the sports car market.
