Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 recently completed a challenging 1,400-mile journey across the UK as part of the EV Rally 2024. The electric tractor unit, fully loaded at 40 tonnes GVW, effortlessly tackled the five-day event, showcasing its capabilities in real-world conditions.

The EV Rally, which took place from July 1-5, featured 50 electric vehicles navigating through 26 locations representing each letter of the alphabet. The eActros 600 was one of only two trucks in the rally and stood out as the sole tractor unit. Throughout the journey, the eActros visited various Mercedes-Benz truck dealerships, highlighting its presence in the UK market.

James Venables, Daimler Truck UK’s Head of Future Sustainability, was part of the eActros driving team and shared his insights on the vehicle’s performance. He emphasized the truck’s impressive range of 500 km on a single charge, showcasing its suitability for long-haul transportation. Despite its capabilities, the eActros made use of designated charging points along the route to demonstrate the ease of topping up during a typical workday.

With production set to begin in December, the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 is now available for ordering through the manufacturer’s national Dealer Network. The vehicle offers a sustainable and efficient transportation option, devoid of exhaust emissions and providing a smooth, quiet, and comfortable driving experience.

The successful completion of the EV Rally solidifies the eActros 600 as a viable solution for various road transport applications in the UK.
