Peugeot recently announced the launch of the third-generation Peugeot 5008, which now comes with the option of an all-electric powertrain called the Peugeot E-5008. This new model retains its seven-seat configuration across all versions, making it a practical choice for families.

Starting at a competitive price of £37,360, the entry-level Peugeot 5008 features a 134bhp hybrid system with a 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engine and a 21bhp electric motor. This combination allows for short electric-only driving periods and achieves an impressive 52.5mpg. For those looking for more power and range, there is a plug-in hybrid version starting at £43,350, offering a combined power output of 192bhp and a pure-electric range of up to 48 miles.

In comparison to its competitors, the Peugeot 5008 is priced attractively, especially the E-5008 which starts at £48,550. This all-electric variant comes with a 73kWh battery providing a range of up to 310 miles on a single charge. Additionally, a long-range version with a 98kWh battery capable of 410 miles and an all-wheel-drive variant with 315bhp are set to be released soon.

Both the Peugeot 5008 and E-5008 are offered in two trim levels: Allure and GT. Standard features include a 21-inch panoramic driver’s display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, keyless entry, ambient lighting, and more. Opting for the GT trim adds premium features like pixel LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, and Alcantara upholstery for an additional £3,800.

The new Peugeot 5008 lineup promises a blend of practicality, efficiency, and technology at an attractive price point. With the introduction of the E-5008, Peugeot is expanding its electric vehicle offerings, catering to the growing demand for eco-friendly transportation options.
