Porsche has issued a recall for all Taycan models produced since its launch in 2020 due to a potential issue with leaking front brake hoses. Although there have been no accidents or injuries reported, the company is taking proactive measures to address the problem. The recall affects over 31,000 cars in the U.S. and more than 150,000 cars worldwide.
Owners of affected vehicles will receive notification letters by July 3 with instructions on how to proceed. If a certain amount of brake fluid is lost, warning messages will alert the driver, indicating issues such as ‘brake fluid low’ or ‘PSM failure.’ In the event of a yellow warning light, owners can safely drive the car to the dealership for repairs. However, if a red warning light appears, it is advised not to drive the vehicle and contact Porsche immediately.
Dealers will replace the front brake hoses with new lines that have a modified design to reduce stress on the hoses. The replacement process is estimated to take about two hours and will be done at no cost to the owners. For more information, Taycan owners can contact Porsche customer service or the NHTSA’s Vehicle Safety Hotline.
Ensuring the safety and integrity of their vehicles, Porsche is committed to resolving the brake issue promptly and efficiently. By taking proactive measures and providing free repairs, the automaker aims to maintain customer satisfaction and safety standards. Stay informed and take necessary actions if you own a Porsche Taycan to address the recall promptly and ensure the continued safety of your vehicle.
