Skoda has recently introduced the all-new Elroq electric SUV, which is the first model to showcase Skoda’s new Modern Solid design language. This design language emphasizes robustness, functionality, and authenticity. The Elroq offers a variety of powertrain and battery options, with a maximum range of over 560 km (348 miles).
The SUV comes equipped with a rear-view camera, Crew Protect Assist, Side Assist, a 13-inch infotainment system, and SmartLink as standard features. With a starting price of approximately 33,000 euros before any state subsidies, the Elroq is positioned as the most affordable electric vehicle in its segment in the European market. This pricing strategy also allows Skoda to achieve price parity between the Elroq and its Karoq ICE counterpart in many markets.
Klaus Zellmer, the CEO of Skoda Auto, highlighted the significance of the Elroq as the brand’s first BEV model in the compact SUV class, which is a rapidly growing sub-segment in Europe. Zellmer emphasized the Modern Solid design language, the wide range of battery sizes, and the impressive range of over 560 km. The Elroq is well-equipped with state-of-the-art assistance systems and offers a competitive starting price, making it an attractive option for customers in the market for an electric SUV.
The exterior design of the Elroq features clean lines and a distinctive shape, showcasing the new Modern Solid design language. The SUV boasts a glossy black Tech-Deck Face in place of the traditional Skoda grille, along with a robust front bumper and reinterpreted headlights. The Elroq is the first Skoda model to display the Skoda lettering on both the bonnet and steering wheel, adding a unique touch to the design.
In terms of performance, the Elroq is available with three different battery sizes and powertrains, with the range-topping Elroq 85 achieving a maximum range of over 560 kilometers. The SUV can be charged quickly at DC fast-charging stations, providing convenience for drivers on the go. The Elroq also offers a spacious interior, including the largest boot in its segment with 470 liters of luggage capacity.
Skoda Auto will begin accepting pre-orders for the Elroq in twelve European markets on October 2nd, with plans to expand to additional markets in the near future. The SUV will be available in two variants, the Elroq 50 and Elroq 85, with a special First Edition model featuring unique design elements. Prices for the Skoda Elroq will start at around 33,000 euros across Europe, making it an attractive option for customers looking to transition to electric vehicles.
